Our Goals

Our mission is to restore hope by rebuilding safe and sustainable homes and empowering local communities to come together and grow stronger. Every structure we rebuild is more than just a shelter, it represents renewal, compassion, and resilience. Guided by the warmth of human connection and the strength of the Jamaican spirit, we light the way from devastation to dignity, ensuring that no family is left in the shadows.

Solara House Foundation — because light always finds its way home.

Shelter

The Shelter Goal

focuses on rebuilding

hurricane-resilient homes for families displaced by Hurricane Melissa. Each home is constructed with safety, sustainability, and

long-term protection in mind restoring stability where loss once stood. Partner contributions directly support materials, construction labor, and emergency housing for vulnerable households, transforming survival into security and hope into permanence.

Wellbeing

The Community Goal is dedicated to healing the social fabric disrupted by the storm. From access to clean water and medical care to food security and trauma-informed support, this initiative ensures families are not just rebuilt physically but emotionally and socially. Partner support helps us deliver critical services that restore dignity, wellness, and unity across affected Jamaican communities.

Agriculture

The Agriculture Goal revitalises Jamaica’s farming communities devastated by flooding, soil loss, and crop destruction. Through seed distribution, equipment restoration, irrigation rebuilding, and climate-smart farming education, your partnership helps farmers grow again feeding families, restoring incomes, and strengthening food independence. This goal ensures recovery is rooted in sustainability and

self-reliance.

Education

The Education Goal safeguards children’s futures by restoring damaged schools, supplying learning materials, and supporting teacher and student recovery after Hurricane Melissa. Partner funding enables safe learning spaces, digital resources, and trauma-sensitive educational programs ensuring that even in the face of disaster, every child retains access to opportunity, growth, and hope.

Each recovery project is designed to strengthen not only physical structures but also the very fabric of our communities, fostering self-reliance and ensuring a stronger tomorrow for all.
